Farm Fresh Eggs
Well, not exactly from a farm. I have 8 hens that live behind Haller Lake Bungalow, and they produce a lot of eggs.
I am delighted to offer these eggs to my guests for 8$ a dozen.
You are also welcome to come meet my chickens! They love meeting new people. Especially if you bring them treats. lol
Meet the Ladies
These are my girls.

Sweetest Girl
Egwene
Egwene has been a resident of the coop since she was three days old. Alexis is her adopted mother and raised her. (Alexis loves being a mom.)
Egwene is the sweetest chicken I own. She lays brown eggs. She is my buddy. Whenever I come outside she runs full speed to great me.
I have left my backdoor open before, and if this happens she often comes inside to explore the house. lol

Management
Twila and Domino
Twila and Domino (and Alexis (not pictured)) are the oldest hens and the original three. They are clearly in charge and they manage all the other girls. They take this job very seriously.
Twila lays beautiful olive colored eggs. Domino lays brown.
Alexis is retired.
Twila is a chickens chicken. She tolerates humans, but would prefer that we leave her alone and don't pick her up. She's independent like that.

New Hire
Montana
Montana is from my mom's ranch in ... Montana. lol
She was brought here on an airplane in my carry on luggage as an egg.
Twila sat on her for 21 days and reluctantly raised her. (Twila doesn't like being a mother hen).
Montana is often lonely as all of her hatch mates were boys and they left when they started to crow. So now Montana is trying to find her spot in the pecking order of things. I often let her come hang out with me in the shed while I do projects. She is super sweet.

Factory Workers
Elaine, Lafear, Nynaeve
Elaine (white girl) Lanfear and Nynaeve arrived with Egwene, and were all raised by Alexis.
These three stick together and are the solid middle of the pack workers of the coop. They lay nearly everyday and keep things consistent.
I have six laying boxes. All 8 hens fight over who gets to lay their egg in the top right box. I guess that is the best one by chicken standards.
Elaine lays beautiful blue eggs. Her sisters lay brown.

Chicken Farmer
Cole
This is me and one of my roosters that no longer lives with us.
Every rooster is special, and handling the roosters that come with every batch of chicks is the hardest part of caring for chickens.
I give the roosters the longest most secure and happy life they can have before they have to leave us.
I am humbled and so grateful for their sacrifice.
This is gonna make me sad writing this.
I love you, boys. Thank you for your life.

Home
Chicken Paradise
My chickens live here.
This is the paradise that I built for them.
It includes to seperate coops, two runs connected by an auto door.
One of the runs is not covered and is open to the elements and includes a bamboo forest (a chickens natural habitat). The other run is covered from the weather so the girls can enjoy the outside and stay dry in Seattle.
The girls are often let out to forage in the backyard. This is their favorite activity.
